Bolo Salgado - Savory Cake
Sal e pimenta do reino à gosto
Para o recheio:
500gr de frango cozido, temperado e desfiado
Milho e ervilha (escorrido)
Cenoura ralada
Azeitonas picadas
Cebola picada
Sal, pimenta do reino à gosto
3. Leve ao forno pré-aquecido em temperatura 180C - 200C por mais ou menos 45min. (depende do forno).
Tonight I fancied something different for dinner but I didn't have many ingredients in my fridge. So I baked a savory cake. I was very happy with the outcome so I decided to share the recipe with you guys. Hope you enjoy it and if you get to bake it please leave a comment below or post a picture on Instagram and tag me or #JulesBalland. I would love to see it!!!
For the batter you will need:
1 cup of milk
1 cup of oil
3 eggs
1 cup (well full) of white flour (I used gluten-free)
1 tablespoon of baking powder
Salt & pepper to taste
For the filling:
500gr of cooked chicken breast, seasoned and shredded
Sweetcorn and peas (drained)
Grated carrot
Chopped olives
Chopped onions
Salt & pepper to taste
1. For the batter: Mix all ingredients in a blender.
2. Grease a baking tray, add most of the batter. Add the filling (I spread the ingredients one by one throughout the batter) and cover with the remaining batter.
3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C-200C temperature for about 45minutes (depending on oven).
4. Before turning off the oven, make sure the cake is cooked by placing a toothpick on the centre, pull it out. It must be dry.
These ingredients was what I had at home, but do according to your preference. You can add more chicken, artichokes, mushrooms, bell pepper, tomatoes etc...
Buon apettito!
Jules xx
