Harbin

Harbin é uma cidade charmozinha localizada na região nordeste da China, perto da divisa com a Russia. 

Durante o século 20, Harbin foi considerada a capital da moda chinesa, atualmente ela é super famosa pelo Festival de Inverno.

São belíssimas esculturas feitas em pedras (gigantescas) de gelo e também na neve espalhadas por vários lugares da cidade mas as maiores e mais bonitas (na minha opinião) ficam no Parque de exposição. 

Nós visitamos o Festival no ano passado (2014) fomos para a abertura na primeira semana de Janeiro e estava congelante :) Na noite que estávamos no parque fazia -30C e durante o dia passamos frio de -25C mas valeu a pena, é lindo de verdade!

Harbin is a cute town located in northeastern China near the border with Russia.

During the 20th century, Harbin was considered the capital of Chinese fashion. Nowadays it's super famous for the Winter Festival.

Basically it's a winter festival with beautiful sculptures made in (huge) ice blocks and also in the snow. The artwork is placed across several places around the town but the largest and most beautiful (in my opinion) are placed at the exhibition park.

We visited the Festival last year (2014), we went in the first week of January for the festival's opening and it was freezing cold :) On the opening night the temperature at the park was -30C and during the day was as cold as -25C but it was so worth it, truly gorgeous!

XINTIANDI  

Onde o passado encontra o futuro no presente.

Xintiandi é um belíssimo e afluente bairro em Shanghai muito famoso pela sua arquitetura.

Localizado na linha 10 do metro, Xintiandi é dividida em dois blocos: Sul e Norte.

O Bloco Sul é onde você encontra a arquitetura moderna com prédios de vidros e o Bloco Norte é a arquitetura mais antiga (belíssima) da década de 20. 

Dividindo os dois blocos você encontra a Xingye Lu. A famosa rua onde esta localizado o prédio sede do Primeiro Partido Nacional Comunista da China.

Tip: Xintiandi Station fica na linha 10 do metro. Use a saída 6 em direção a Madang Lu e caminhe em sentindo Norte.

Where the past meets the future in the present.

Xintiandi is a beautiful and affluent neighbourhood in Shanghai, famous for its arquitecture. 

Located on metro line 10, Xintiandi is divided in two blocks: South Block and North Block.

The South Block is where you will find modern arquitecture with glass walls buildings and the North Block you will find the gorgeous arquitecture from early 1920s.

Dividing the two blocks its Xingye Lu. The famous street where the site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Tip: Xintiandi is located on metro line 10. Take exit 6 to Madang Lu, walk north.

Happy To Hear Ni Hao!

Estamos morando em Shanghai - China há mais ou menos 2 meses que não poderiam ser mais felizes.

E o que Shanghai tem de melhor na minha opinião? Ainda não decidi se é o povo, a culinária ou o clima (menos a poluição é claro!)... mas morar aqui é tudo de bom!

We relocated to Shanghai - China about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier.

And what does Shanghai can offer the best? Sorry, I haven't decided yet... maybe the people, perhaps the culinary or even the climate (less the pollution, of course) but one thing I know for sure: I love it here.

Com mais de 23 milhões de habitantes espalhados por uma área de 6,340.5 metros quadrados, Shanghai é uma das cidades mais populosas do mundo e pela 
qual a China ‘se abriu’ para o mundo. Aqui tudo é muito moderno.. os prédios, pessoas, costumes... muito diferente do restante do País.

With more than 23 million people leaving in a 6,340.5 square meters, Shanghai is one of the most populated cities in the world and its how China found a way to open the country for the world. Here everything is modern... the buildings, the people... very different from the rest of the country.

Mandarim é a lingua oficial, super difícil de aprender, mas os Chineses já se contentam com um simples Ni Hao! (Ola).

Mandarin is the official language, super hard to learn, but the Chinese always smile when they hear a western saying Ni Hao! (Hi)
